I was with Orange, and recently bought a new phone on T-Mobile. I received my PAC code from Orange, and gave it to T-Mobile, who then told me my number would be ported on the 23rd (now the 24th, just).

When I woke up on the 23rd, I could not send or receive any texts from my T-Mobile phone. I could also ring people, but not receive any calls. My Orange phone however could send and receive texts and same for calls.

The strange thing is, that when I dial out on my T-Mobile phone, the number it is dialing from is actually my Orange one! When I get incoming calls, they go to my Orange phone, same with texts.

I don't quite understand this. I rang T-Mobile, they said the number was transferred, and it could take 24 hours for the system to refresh, yet the guy who initiated the port said it would take a few hours, early on the 23rd.

Does anyone have any idea what may have happened, and which network could be at fault? It seems as though T-Mobile have tried to do their bit, but Orange have kept me on their network!

An update to this:

I rang Orange, they said their end is fine, but can see a problem, and I need to ring T-Mobile as it's on their end otherwise porting will not happen.

Rang T-Mobile, they said their end is fine, and Orange hasn't released the number, which they said they have, however T-Mobile said they've rang Orange to release the number, as apparently there are 30 odd numbers Orange haven't released.

I honestly don't know who to believe here.

Why can't one network just take the blame and get it sorted instead of blaming the other!

No they never!

Which phone? I've just turned my new phone off now, leaving the old Orange one on, or do they both need to be off?

I rang Orange back, and they said that the haven't yet released my number, even though earlier they said they had. It's a complete joke, once adviser telling me one thing and another adviser telling me another!

On the phone to both of them again. T-Mobile said the same thing, waiting until Orange release the number, and it'll work straight away. Orange finally said my number hadn't been released, and not likely too until tomorrow.

3 days late, absolutely useless. Glad I'm leaving that network.

hmmm.. I ported Orange to TMobile at the beginning f the month with no issues... Have found TMobile support to be much more helpful and on the ball than Orange so far...

Yeah, the guys at T-mobile have been very helpful and very polite on the phone! Both times I've rang, they tested my phone to see which rang, then put me through to the people who port the code in, to be told exactly the same thing.

For the 3 times I rang Orange, I was told 3 different things!
