Testing Squad Mailing list created: https://garage.maemo.org/mail/?group_id=1273
All current members of the testing squad were invited, feel free to join.
In a near future this list will receive automatic notifications of each package that enters or leaves Extras-testing.
I'll keep posting the important stuff here at TMO.

Help needed!!!

I need some help with the Testing Squad wiki page, this page should be the entry point for the Squad members and newcomers.

First daft: http://wiki.maemo.org/Testing_Squad
Feel free to modify any existent information and add more sections, the page was inspired in this one: http://wiki.maemo.org/Bugsquad

Action points:

* FAQ: Add more questions.
* Add a description(first section).
* Add links to Extras-testing and QA Checklist
* Any other relevant section.

Thanks!!

I've added some content, hopefully it does make sense, however bear in mind this is my very first Wiki contribution ever. :)

I've also added empty section How Testing Squad works where I think the process of testing and squad member roles should be explained in details. I am not competent enough to fill that in (yet ;), tough.

So, when are these automatic notifications expected to go live ? I wouldn't mind a separate cauldron-style list, just to separate the chatter...

Just a thought about testing mailing list. Why a new mailing list was created when there was a strong push to stop using -community mailing list and use Talk instead? And why the list isn't in http://maemo.org/community/ (where other "forums" are linked) and http://lists.maemo.org/

Not that I'm against it, it's just very well hidden.

because that is a whole another story. mailing lists are for small groups. community has more active people at tmo than with mailing lists. and when community chat is at mailing lists and tmo, there are very much overlapping things and two different instances go through exactly the same things instead of combining and using half of the effort for new things instead of duplicates.

It should still be listed with "official" mailing lists. It is as important as they are.

Unfortunately I could not attend the last sprint meeting, from the wiki table I can't see there any related task for that, but will try to push it this month.
