Yes I agreed that the music playlist is hard to customise. No wrong about this though, I find it hard too. But sometimes the apps don't just appear on its own. It take time to develope. Of cause the apps are being release slowly, because the OS is still new (maemo 5) that is. Comparing to Symbian and Android, or OSX iphone, the OS on the N900 is considered as a baby. While other OS out there right now are older than Maemo 5 at least by a few years.

Maemo itself is old but maemo5 is not. There were not many serioius developer for the previous maemo device, until maemo5 took it to the next level of Mobile Computing device.

I think we all are here for the same reason and waiting for the same thing. Patience bud! Do check up Extra-Testing at your own risk. Why?

Because it is called "TESTING", everything in there are not yet passed the testing stage yet. But you are free to try and use them at no cost.

lol.. I refer the OP to the post I made earlier in that case! Although looking at their other posts they had an Iphone before the n900..

Seriously though NaSr you will have to put some work into getting this device how you want it to be - that's one of the things I love most about it! For content sharing on facebook, flckr and possibly youtube too look at Petrovich app, also make sure you check out fMMS to enable you to send picture messages, may take a bit of time and effort to get it working but very satisfying once you do!

Nasr, you do realise that many folk who bought the n900 realised what they were in for , in regards to the apps?
This is a new 0S that nokia has launched with this phone/device and surprisingly it has many apps already available, altho majority are in testing stage you can still pretty much use them and they are updated regurarly for known bugs and extra features.
We all want shazaam, etc but these apps will pop up eventually if not sooner or later, just be patient.
We already have a call blocker, now that was fast! there are plenty of other great apps such as firefox, theres even an app for youtube where you can download the videos/songs onto your n900. Do some research and you'll find plenty of apps, games etc to run on the n900.
If I were you I wouldn't be going onto a forum and start ranting/shouting at others about apps. You should send nokia an email of your thoughts if you feel that strongly but good luck in getting a reply!
You can also check out the ovi store, it will slowly catch up with apple's store but in due time.

As the saying goes........"Good things come to those who wait!"

No, it's not surprising. And after watching this thread degrade even more; I was just trying to avoid the train wreck.

Too bad it happened anyway. Win some, lose some.

"better youtube integration"

i don't understand why someone would want an app for youtube when the browser handles it perfectly well, the way it was designed and supposed to be used, just like on a computer.

Epic Linux Fail.

The OP has a point, albiet he stated it like an ***. I'm just not interested in most of the games that currently exist. Doom, Angry Birds, and Airport are the ones which are most appealing, the rest just aren't my things. They are old games.

And don't give me that crap about writing my own games, I'm working on it. It would help if developing for the n900 wasn't so **** *** backwards.

Because the phone is not a full blown computer and people would rather have an app they can easily use rather than have to pull up the browser and deal with the website. Although I don't agree with the way the OP made his/her first post in this thread I tend to agree with them. This phone has NO apps compared to the iPhone (I came from a jailbroken one). Sure, it runs linux and is open, but there are seriously way more customizations for jailbroken iPhones than the n900. I know you're going to say the n900 is new and just to "wait" but by the time that happens the n900 will be outdated and a new gadget will be available.

Personally, I think the n900 is a step backwards from a jailbroken iPhone but I have an n900 now and I'm going to have to make the best of it.
