Too many features but laggy. Not enough hardwares power to support them all. :-D whereas N900 has the hardware power but not enough features to take the advantage of all the goodies hardies!

Also had the N97 for about 6 month before getting the N900. Do miss the portrait mode, and the better apps/games for Symbian. But using the N900 compared to N97 is just so much faster, and got better keyboard and browser, plus of curse better multitasking, even though Maemo 5 is not perfect, it is still preferred over Symbian 5th edit. IMO.

Looking forward for Symbian^3, though, hoping for a device like N97, but with up to date hardware.

Having used both device since first month of release, I have to say the N900 just beats the N97 in every way. Never in my entire life have I had a device that is as close to perfection as the N900.
BUT... I do gotta admit, there is no device in the ENTIRE planet that is sexier than the Nokia N97. I used to love tilting it open and closing it back... I would have it opened sitting on a desk and everybody walking past by it would look at it

N97 is Nokia's Big phone ... i.e. the competitor for the much compared iPhone. A device aimed at the masses, very low chance of confusing or alienating buyers.

N900 is there new internet tablet, with gsm functions. Not a "true" phone in that its feature set's not what the average phone user expects. A device aimed at very savvy users, very high chance of confusing or alienating average buyers. [See various useless flames and comparisons between the N900 Tablet and various phones].

i think n97's tilting sucks, do the designers think we put it on a surface and type like a laptop n900's screen and sliding is way way better!

n97 form factor is good, the sliding hinge is amazing and build quality is out of this world and KB is easier to use than on the n900, reason why is b/c theres not much space on top row and keys not spaced out like on n97 making it harder to use
anyone who as both and used them for quite a while will agree with me i'm sure.
talking from experience i would pick n97 slider and KB over n900 ones any day of the week
n900 wins on chip set, screen resolution and in most other departments.
my dream device would be n900 specs with n97 KB and slider running meego

my wife has an N97 and I think it's an absolutely beautifully designed piece of hardware. I would the first Nokia Meego phone to have a similar design to it. The way the screen pops up is genial.
