I've got one I used to use with my Palm - I'll give it a shot this evening (if the download completes by then).

if I connect BT GPS with N900, it will use this GPS instead of internal GPS, or how it works?

For external GPS....you need to probably go deep ( through SSH on the menu.ini) .So far I cannot see an option to change the GPS to an external one, but there are some options in the menu.ini or settings.ini if I`m correct.

yes, and if you delete or rename the menu.ini you have the options in the menu, too...

I think you just have to change your N900 system settings (location). There you can change the gps source from internal to a paired bluetooth device.

Sygic Mobile will then automatically use this source instead of the internal gps ?

Haven't tried it myself, just a logical guess.

yes, and this is also the reason, why is gps settings menu disabled in menu.ini

I wonder why it would have to be paired, though. There's no technical need. Maemo Mapper (on the N800), for example, will simply let you use whatever GPS you have searched and configured for.

Can anybody help me?! I have purchased Sygic, downloaded both the PC program and the .zip file in case that didn't work.

The PC program has installed, asked me to attach my phone in 'Mass Storage Mode' which I did. I had a choice of 'F Drive - N900' of 'G Drive N900', there was nothing in the F drive so I chose G drive and went to the next screen. It showed that it was going to use 12.5gb of an available 27gb, and I was to chose the maps and voices that I wanted. I did both of these (UK & Ireland and Malta - going on hols in a few months so thought it might be nice) and clicked sync.

It said it was successful and returned the original screen. All of the other screens say that the maps and voices are installed so I disconnected, and looked at my N900 app menu to see nothing. The App Manager has no list of it either.

I have attempted the alternate way, removing all of the installed files and doing it manually with the unzipped download, folders and files being added to the root folder, and clicking on the 'SetupMaemo.deb' file. This should open App Manager apparently but it doesn't, I have to chose to open it in that, but when I do App Manager opens and nothing happens.

I am stuck my geeky counterparts, and I am hoping that your geekyness and thus intelligence in this matter may outweigh mine and be able to help me?!

Cheers in advance

Dan
