I've set up the VNC server on my Nokia 770, and connected in from my desktop (Windows, TightVNC) with no problems, thinking that this way I could at least use my desktop's keyboard for navigating and so on while doing text intensive things.

But though the thing recognizes my mouse clicks, and it DOES notice when I hit the 'backspace' key, it doesn't accept any input in the form of letters from my Windows box's keyboard. Can someone help me out?

I'm having the same trouble. Is the keyboard supported with the VNC server?

I've been using Ultra VNC and I can mouse and type in a XTerm window, but not in other apps like the browser or notepad. It is odd.

Look forward to hearing of a solution!

I am experiencing the same problem using RealVNC (from Windows XP).

xterm works fine, but in other applications nearly every keystroke seems to be lost - except for tab and backspace.

Has anybody got any VNC client to work any better?

Don.

BTW. Plugging the p/s into my 770 seems to solve the problem of the connection being lost every few minutes - some sort of power management issue?
