I've been having problems with my media player lately. When i start the program it starts normally, shows all my songs and videos but when i try to play a song by pressing on it, it simply doesn't play it. The window shows up with an icon of a disk on the left and the playback control buttons on the bottom and on the right, that the name of the song and the slider are supposed to be, nothing shows up! I've waited very long for it to see if it appears or play the song, but nothing happened. Videos and internet radio work perfectly. I'm using canola as a solution right now. By the way i even had problems with the media before this happened. For example if someone called me and i missed or rejected the call, media player would randomly start playing a song causing me a big embarrassment. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

You would be using a bluetooth headset by chance? It sounds like the media player might be getting confused and trying to route audio through a headset.

No, i am not using any sort of headset. i'm trying to play the songs right through the phone's speakers.

I'm gonna assume you have tried restarting the device, and trying to reset the tracker using:
tracker-processes -r
?

Btw, i've been having that very same issue when I miss or reject a call, sometimes a song would play from the speaker, "causing embarrassment" loll, luckily up to now it's been good songs that play, lol, but yea... it is an issue, although happens completly random and very few times, wouldn't consider it a major issue... It is the first time I hear somebody else having it though.
