Hello Folks,

I have used cytv (http://www.lucid-cake.net/cytv/index_en.html) in the past to stream my live eyetv stream from my Mac to my powerbook or pc (as long as it has vlc installed). As I understood it uses http streams (according to the manual the best one is to vlc : http://www.lucid-cake.net/cytv/manual_en.html). But I tried to open it by using the web browser (http://myip:8001) and it starts saying that it is buffering on media player. However it only managed to show the stream for a fraction of second and it stops. I have not tried to install vlc yet even though i don't know if it would do any help. Is it maybe the transcoding on the media player side? It seems to me there is no possible way to tweak the bitrate on the server cytv server.

I heard about knots 2. But I don't know how to stream my eyetv to it. If I could use knots it would be better. Is there a best way to stream eyetv live to n900?

My apology for these questions, but I am just preparing myself to stream the live worldcup match to my new shiny n900 . Thanks in advance for the help.

Cheers,
Jules

Have you tried to open the stream with mplayer? I'm sure Knots would work too, but I would need to add a way to switch channels. I've done this for Dreambox so I bet it can be done.
