In no particular order:
  • joe - the only text editor anyone needs
  • openssh - OpenBSD's implementation of SSH server, client, and related utils
  • powermanga - top-down shooter, way too much fun
  • bluemaemo - bluetooth HID support -- makes your N900 a keyboard/mouse/etc. for any computer
  • mapper - Descendant of maemo-mapper, still the best raster-maps program I know for Maemo

openSSH Server & Client - Connecting linux pc, using as sftp file server (transfer files over network)
2G/3G mode applet - change quickly between 2G and 3G
Sygic - turn by turn voice navigation
Petrovich - send files over bluetooth
headphone daemon - pauses music when headphones are disconnected
