no i want to make a free download for the map of russia

andraeseus1 i have all ready the programm but i cant make a set up for it at phone

okay.... thats weird. it should be in the maemo extras repository. do you have this repository set up in the catalog? if not here is a link to set it up

if you "have already the programm" (this means the maps on your phone and the deb package installed [via xterminal is how i did it]) then you shouldnt have any problems. what is the error msg you get when you try and open the sygic application from the "more" menu in the n900?

if you already installed the .deb file al you should have to do is reboot your phone and then you should see the sygic mobile maps application in your phone in the "more" section of the phone

after installed the programm appears at screen no load map

hmmm, i am not much of a tech person when it comes from this all i can show u is how i did it. I installed the maps by usinng the sygic assistant on the pc first. it prompted me to add maps.

I think the prob you are having is that maybe the actualy "maps" that you put on your n900 are not in the correct place. i think all that stuff has o be in the same folder. the root folder. i could be wrong. but i think thats it. i wish i could be of more assistants mate

Is this not a request for pirated material? Sygic have not released russian maps for maemo and as far as I am aware trying to use another platforms maps involves cracking them does it not?

Regardless of whether you think it is right or wrong,do we really want this site to be supporting piracy?

who is supporting piracy? I suport trying to install sygic maps. however a person decides to come accross those maps is there biz and i could care less. Like NOkia supported super mario bros emulator and put a youtube vid out on it with super mario playing on the n900. that doesnt mean they support piracy or bootlegged video games. however you come across that rom is your biz and i could care less.

Besides when a company sells you a program and they fluff up the advertising to get you to buy it and make it appear better then it is i personally have no sympathy for them anyway. sygic is missing a lot of some basic functions. I wish i would haev pirated it first before buying. You know kind alike to try it out first and then buy if it is what its cracked up to be

I think i did see maps of russia on the website though. i think my friend here may very well have bought this program along with the maps. if not.. who cares? i support maemo and trying to get navigation on it. his moral beliefs and opinions are between him and his own diety should he choose to answer to one. i. could. not. care. less.

question.. lets say for instants.. sygic does not offer maps of Russia.. is he wrong for wanting to install maps for russia from another source that works with sygic? and is he wrong for wanting to download said maps for FREE... especially if there is a free and legal way to get them?
