Hiya I have done some searching on this and cant find a answer so Thought I would ask for some techie help here

In xterm after typting ifconfig I get a about 2 screens of errors.
Most importtantly the inet addr which I think should be the same as my wlan address (192.168.0.x) is in fact 127.0.0.1 mask 255.0.0.0)

I assume that this is wrong???

Any one care to comment on how to put it right as I can not wireless connect to my N900

Screen shot would help.

I dont think those are errors. My inet address is the same as yours with the same mask. I can connect to the 3G without a problem.

Maybe there is another problem with your settings.

A screen shot is needed to help more.

127.0.0.1 is the loopback interface address. You will always have this.

Do you see your IP address if you do:

Code:
ifconfig | more
That will cause the output of ifconfig to pause at the end of each screen (press any key to continue), stopping details whizzing off screen before you get the chance to read them.

the 127.0.0.1 is your loopback interface, leave it alone, you need it.

The IP address in your screenshots is 192.168.0.4.

Type
Code:
ifconfig | grep addr
just to see the lines that have addresses in them.

you've got an ip address, so if its dhcp you're connecting, is it set to dhcp?
