Is it so hard for nokia to release a fix to each bug as they come than having to wait for months for one package which is really quite inconvenient, for example, the ussd dis functionality was fixed 2 months back but i have to wait another 2 months to get it just because it has to come out on pr 1.2. . . . thats really ****ed up . Why can't they do it the way like microsoft . . .

Ehrm... Maemo is based on Linux, so "No!". Reboots are not required as often on Linux, as that other so-called OS. Basically, only kernel upgrades require a full reboot. I've updated many Linux systems without restarting anything, besides the actual programs/services that were updated.
Most of the time it isn't even necesarry to restart updated programs/services. They continue to run just fine. One exception from this rule, I've noticed, is Thunderbird, that tend to require a restart after updating.

I guess after having 4K posts in this thread, many people would think microsoft's frequent update is better.
In fact, I don't mind what microsoft does, many of them are optional and don't need to restart and if they do, it's said on the update description..

(I've waited for almost 2 years until finally a firmware update on N95-3)

Something I find funny is the fact that Nokia admits the massive issues with PR1.1 yet they won't roll out PR1.2 as a small update to fix the biggest issues such as memory leaks.

I would rather they push out PR1.2 with the big fixes done and do a PR1.3 & 1.4 for the other issues.

Pretty sad when people are willing to gamble with a pre-RC leaked 1.2 because it fixes most of the PR1.1 issues.
