If the network doesn't support conference/call waiting, chances are high that you won't be able to make the second cellular call when one is in progress.

But on the other hand, even if the network doesn't support conference call, it should be possible to make atleast 1 cellular call and 1 IM call (worst case scenario) and have them conferenced on n900 (without any support from the cellular or IM provider).

Sure, if you're on 3G. If you're using 2G, the answer is no, unless you have service from one of the few carriers who support it. (none in the US support simultaneous voice and data on 2G, AFAIK)

Tmobile 3g can let you call and go online at the same time
