Relying on JustinTV is a world of frustration usually. I think I did notice something about Sopcast appear in a thread recently, though data usage would sky rocket I'd imagine.
unless you already a sky customer then its an extra tener but yes its an expense that i wouldnt pay.

How would an online petition work to sky we would need enough signatures??

Waiting for Adobe 10.1 so I can use it for megavideo, but I've seen a video where they've overclocked the N900 and megavideo was playing well, only thing is that I'm too much of a novice to go and start fiddling with the device, I like it the way it is.
it does work but you cant fit it to the screen so the quality is poorer than normal and it chucks you off , its playing the live Huddersfield milwall game as we speak

usually there is an option to fullscreen the player. Maybe you should try opening it up with KM Player

Sky Mobile TV comes to Nokia handsets
Tuesday, February 23 2010, 12:09 GMT

By Andrew Laughlin, Technology Reporter

Sky has launched a new application bringing its mobile TV service to smartphones manufactured by Nokia.

Available now to download from Nokia's Ovi store, the Sky Mobile TV app allows certain handset owners to watch live Premier League action on their phones and also access breaking headlines from Sky News.

The software further enables users to remotely connect to their Sky+ receiver to set recordings on the electronic programming guide.

The Nokia N97, Nokia N97 Mini, 5800 XpressMusic and 5530 handsets will be first to support the app, but it will soon expand to the Nokia 5230 and Nokia X6. A different service offering non-live highlights of Sky programming will be launched on a further ten handsets in the future.

Nokia UK head of services marketing Rupert Englander said: "We are always looking for new and innovative ways to help make life easier for our consumers.

"Modern lifestyles have driven demand for great mobile content and services on-the-go, and it's great to know that this app will make a real difference to Nokia users.

"The partnership with Sky is just one of many that will bring everyday products and services to the pockets of our consumers - all accessible quickly and easily through the Ovi Store."

Sky general manager for mobile David Gibbs added: "We're delighted to be working with Nokia to give millions more people the chance to enjoy TV on the move.

"The success of Sky Mobile TV has shown there's a real appetite for innovative services that allow customers to choose when and where they watch."

Sky Mobile TV was launched last year on the iPhone, offering live streams of a range of channels - including the Sky Sports portfolio, ESPN, Sky News, Sky Sports News and At The Races.

Which tells me we moan enough we should get. Let us know who is up for a petition to nokia for this service or if anyones a better idea post on

I am quite frustrated by this as its one of the reasons i got the phone back in december, the main problem here is that its basically a create your own app phone but for subscription services we are screwed
Me too...I am a truck driver and was getting tired of the constant buffering on sky player via my laptop. I thought the N900 would be the answer..how wrong was I

I have a full subscription with Sky so would have been ideal. I have experimented with free to air internet TV on the N900 but it doesn't work well - obviously down to compatability. Catchup TV does work but it lags so bad.

I was trying to avoid taking a portable TV in my cab due to space...and signal problems. Unless something is developed fast by Sky for Silverlight I will miss the World Cup

When I got the phone from Vodafone they included 2 months free sky TV pack!! I complained about this and demanded 3 months free line rental (1200 mins a month and free data downloads) they agreed. I should have sent the phone back.

I'm sure the N900 is a great piece of kit for enthusiasts but I am struggling to understand what easy deb / ubuntu is. And what does the X terminal do?

Disgruntled
