It Happened to me exactly the same, it seems that you wrote my story!!! No seriously it happened exactly the same! Someone stole my n900 from the pocket of my pants!

I also tried to report the line but I purchased my N900 in Europe![]()

I reported the line to teh phone company, and they deactivated it. I changed all my passwords already, and was wondering about the IMEI. I aquired my phone at a Nokia store and hence my carrier doesn't have the IMEI registered.
It seems that they just started tracking stolen IMEIs this week here in Mexico, and unfortunately only the ones aquired with them. Talk about useless. So I can't issue a report to report my IMEI, at least not in Mexico. My phone was bought in the US, so maybe it can be reported elsewhere.
In any case, I felt that it was best to post the IMEI here for public records:
