Tried it for a while now, looks very good. Nicely done!

I do, however, have a few things I would like to see improved/fixed

First, I would like a setting to completely disable vkb in landscape mode. It annoys me when the vkb pops up in landscape mode, no matter what state the hardware keyboard is in.

Second, the zooming. I've found several sites already where you can't see the full element you clicked on (for example, try clicking on any article summary at http://slashdot.org). Also, I would like to see a setting to activate volume key zoom, I find it very handy in microb.

Third is the non-standard long press thing already mentioned. It's very confusing that you can't do the "standard" press, hold, slide, release gesture. Adhering to standard interface behaviour is pretty important, in my opinion.

Finally, if I slide out the keyboard while zoomed in on something in portrait mode, opera quite reliably crashes.

Love the way it works, fast and smooth.
It's a really good starting point, it lacks probably a few features/settings, but is way better than FF and, in some fields (rendering, smooth scrolling...) better than MicroB.

Great, but could we have flash support, or at least a way to activate it?

Diablo/OS2008 First impressions (on N810).

First of all the browser looks great. Very attractive speed dial page as starting screen that you can customize with your favorite sites:

Easy to access menu for settings, history, etc:

The addition of 'tabs' is very useful and something that is very welcome:

After having played with the browser for 30 minutes my first impressions are that;

Pro's:
a) It is a very attractive browser,
b) The tabs is a very valuable feature that works well,
c) Love the speed dial screen,
d) Kinetic scrolling is very good,
e) Zoom-tap works well,

Con's/Uncertain:
f) It does NOT seem to be a 'faster' browser on my N810 than say microB. I did some very unscientific tests where I launched google.com, yelp.com and youtube.com in the browsers (three times each) and microB was faster every single time (sometimes twice as fast).
Example:
Yelp.com (ran three times in each browser):
- microb: Fully loaded in 12-16 seconds,
- Opera: Fully loaded in 40-50 seconds.

Note again: This is on Diablo, Maemo5 users may see very different results.

g) Even though I have youtube.com in the speed dial Opera insists on opening up m.youtube.com (even with 'Mobile view' on or off).

h) In 30 minutes the browser simply closed down 2-3 times for no apparent reason

i) No Flash support.

Conclusion:
A VERY nice 'preview release'!
If f-i above could be addressed (at least for Diablo, and assuming that it is not user-errors (which is possible)) I would make this my default browser already now

Thanks Opera!
