If you can get into HAM or xterm and try uninstall some 'devel' stuff or whatever new apps you may have installed recently?
My n900 is at 100% for the first 1 - 4 minutes on some boot ups.. Maybe try remove all widgets from desktops..
This is all if you can get anything to activate under the load..... (or reflash)
