For those of you who are wealthy enough to afford a 770 but not wealthy enough to buy a screen protector, I offer you my free screen protector instructions.

Take one DVD movie / game case (one with a clear, colourless cover that holds the DVD movie / game cover sheet). Alternatively, any similar material will suffice (OHP projector sheets should be fine).

Cut the sheet (use a knife not spoon) so that it is slightly larger than the dimensions of the 770's screen (try 2mm larger inall directions). A paper template might help.

Slide a corner of the shiny new (cheap) screen protector under the lip of the Nokia 770's screen.

Work the rest of the edges in.

Enjoy the 8 quid you've saved.

Already did this using acetate sheet (same stuff you use for overhead projectors.)

It's all scratched up rather horribly atm [the sheet, not the screen]

Good idea to use the plastic CD/DVD sleeves though....I'll certainly give it a try!

Nice idea but how easy are they to remove and how much do they affect the touch sensitivity?

Personally I've always used screen protectors (after I saw what a 6 year old could do with a Palm in under 2 minutes). Not a pretty sight : )

The plastic I'm using is as clear as it gets and probably less than a hundred microns thick. You can remove then in in a couple of seconds, they don't affect the sensitivity, they don't affect the quality of the display (at least mine hasn't) and it's taken me longer to type this than it did to make one. : )
