It would be interesting to get pictures in the RAW format, then the quality would be way better and pictures can be lossless edited afterwards.

Also a different video codec might be useful, also to fix this "hicks / lags" while recording

Hey , lol

I think you edit this file in a text editor: /etc/gdigicam/gdigicam-camerabin.conf.

I use midnight commander for all my file movements / edits.
but you can use any text editor that can use root privileges, or a explorer so that you can move the file to MyDocs and edit with n900 'Notes' app.

Edit: just tried this cant get it to work yet. still saving as jpeg.

What about raw format ? The N900 has a RAW viewer, but looks like not being able to generate such pictures.
So what is RAW viewer for ?

Other question : when using GPS tagging, I am asked to connec to the internet to find the matching town.

Is there a way to save the complete GPS coordonates without the town ?

For the moment, the GPS coords in EXIF comments look like this :
GPSinfo 4652

How to get real GPS info ?

Believe it or not but here is a picture i took of some kind of bee while flying with the old camera settings on the n900.

Everyone who still complains about the n900 camera is a n00b!
Outstanding picture.

What settings did you use?

I find the flash is the only real letdown on the camera but it takes great pictures in "normal" daylight.

as nice as this find may be, i dont think its going to fix the image-sensor of the n900 that naturally creates a lot of "noise" on the pictures (as you can see in sygys' picture)
