WTF???
I keep getting emails saying my account has been locked, because someone is hacking it. Here is the email message:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your account on Internet Tablet Talk Forums has been locked because someone has tried to log into the account with the wrong password more than 5 times. You will be able to attempt to log in again in another 15 minutes.

The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 74.53.243.34

Don't forget that the password is case sensitive. Forgotten your password? Use the link below:
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo....php?do=lostpw

All the best,
Internet Tablet Talk Forums
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is NOT my ip address. Doing an "NSLOOKUP" reveals that
the host name is 22.f3.354a.static.theplanet.com.

Is there anyway to stop this guy ??? I reported it to the administrators.
Also, I got a really really weird private message from someone, whom is obviously a kook, with this long message about budda.

Unfortunately I just deleted it, so I can't report this registered user.

I would suggest changing your password, because if you happen to use the same p/w on other sites, someone could do a lot of damage.

Why do these freaks have to screw with people?
Is anyone else having this problem ???

You can send an email to abuse@theplanet.com.

I've gotten several emails from other boards with similar issues and that is one of the ip's I've seen as well.

I got that same PM about Buddha. I also deleted it. However, my account has not been locked out.

I'm getting the same problem. I haven't used my account for a few moths/years, and don't really need it, so I think that for security reasons I will purge it if this happens again. Anyone know how to do this? How do I terminate my account?

I'm investigating the problem and have just blocked the IP from the server's firewall.

Thanks.

Being a newbie here, what protection do we have against this on our n800? I don't we have a built in firewall.

The attack is not against your device, it's against the website.
