Hi everybody!
I'm new here and I'm new with N900.

I swapped by E90 to N900 thinking to have better life but it seems it not so by now.
I'd like to backup all my SMS but I can't use PC Suite to do that.

With my E90 I used to log into Nokia PC Suite Communication Center and to select all my SMS into Inbox and then Sent and print them to a PDF file so to keep them as backup.

Now with my N900 I can't do that because it Nokia Communication Center say "incompatible device".

Any way to back up the SMS?

I need that since many programs stop working and I want to format my device to original state and start everything from scratch again.
Many programs now hang and do not work properly or many programs get installed and does not show up.

Thank You for your help.

There is an application called glogarchive that allows you to do this from the phone itself.

Have a look at this thread here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...ht=glogarchive

I belive the backup program within the N900 will backup you SMS conversations along with other program settings. Then after you have formated your device use the same program to restore them.

Make sure you backup to a MMC card not the internal memory

Can I back it up into internal memory then save the file to PC since it is a zip file and place it back or there is a special reason to save it to the MMC card?

Yes you can do that. There's no special reason.

The EMMC image will clear the internal memory, so yes you can backup to internal memory and then copy it to your PC, just don't leave your only copy on the internal memory
