i remember reading on of titan's post saying that , only when there is a crash or accidental reboot that wil cause the kernel to not run properly.

everytime i type in

Code:
 kernel-config limits 500 750
I can see from conky and 'kernel-config show' that the overclock was successful, but when i reboot, everything just goes back to standard and its like i've never overclocked before =(

anyone knows whats going on here? is anyone experiencing the same problem?

thanks
when you have it set how you want it, as root
enter "kernel-config save myconfig" then "kernel-config default myconfig"
it will then use your settings a startup

Hi, thanks for your reply, probelm is now sorted!

and i have just encountered another problem.

basically i overclocked my n900 today, and before that i used transitioncontrol, i understand that it has to be opened via xterminal.

however after overclocking, i go into xterminal,

first thing i noticed is that, some letters are covering each other, i dont know how else to explain , but its like as if the screen is running out of space, hence words were squeezed and some are covering others.

and the second thing is that, when i type in 'root => transitioncontrol ' , i get this :

Traceback (most recent call last) :
File "/usr.bin.transitioncontrol" , line 13 , in <module>
import osso

Importerror : no module named osso

what happened here? is it the new kernel that kinda messed up the settings or something?

help is much appreciated.

cheers

I use low voltage kernels i make myself with titans kernel.

i upped mine lowest clock to 600mhz and scale it to 900mhz.
this give me the best performance.
I dont like 250 mhz becuase of the quick scaling.

22 22 30 32 35 38 42 44 47 49 53 56 59 72 72

i like it like this, it uses the same voltage on 600mhz when normal 250mhz was used.

When i go below 38 my system will go little unstable.
Suddently not/ to very slow loading movies.
Calling not always work like i should be.
When i use the FM transmitter and somebody is calling i cannot pick up (to low voltage???)

Its possible reduce the voltages only i like the little room i have when it needs that extra voltage.
Heat = more needs of volts.

Maybe somebody has a little feedback or something.
I could even run it on 600mhz without scaling, i think scaling is also battery draining.

Dunno if it's just me, but I find that V34 seems to drain battery faster than V27, I can have about 1 hour of calls and device can last me the whole day with V27 but with V34 battery drained faster with less calls today. So I revert back and monitor. Wonder if anyone else observed that. Of course it's not a concrete evidence of battery draining issue in V34

Yes, battery drains faster, really much faster than v27.
I'm using LPR1.2, perhaps this could have some kind of side-efect with this v34.
Second battery today... and third one before arriving home for sure.

the default settings seems to be a battery saver for me now (really weird).
idle for almost 5 hours and my battery graph shows a flat graph (95% and still 95% after). this may be a bug or something. happened 2 times now, usually when im sleeping.

So I'm not alone.

Anyway, I reverted to V27 (really need that awesome battery life in V27) and will follow closely on the development of this awesome kernel

@das_schlumpfie,
Im running v34 and also transition controll which by the way should just open normaly without using xterminal, and i havent seen any of the issues you describe, try uninstalling and reinstalling the transitioncontrol app.

This is what I noticed couple of days ago. Battery just didn't last so long with v34 as with v27.
According to Titan's response there shouldn't be any issues.

Now I'm running again with v34 and all seems to be OK. I don't know what caused that extra activity that was increasing current consumption.
