Already possible, you just need an ssh server and vnc server on the N900. Both have been in Extras for ages.

a program to remote control the N900 like tightVNC. with another anti thief software to send me the ip so i can log in if its stolen or missing.

Oh you know what, if anything goes my REAL dream app would be something like PalmOS' global search, that lets me search documents, contacts, calendar, etc all from one place. That would really help.

vpn server? i got ssh but i want to be able to see the desktop

The option to decide which numbers can reach me directly, which one will be blocked or routed to an internal (!!) answering machine is fantastic. I'm with this guy, that application sound pretty useful indeed. Loads of people were looking for something to do this, we all got "CallBlock" but this sounds like the call blocking guru.

Ill be up for testing this...

Sorry I meant VNC server, but yeah it is possible:
