Hey Folks

A newbie here just need some help on where to find particular apps.

I've been been able to pick up a few from the repositories but there are some that aren't in there.

Basically I'm in need of Facebook and a Twitter app.

Facebrick looks like it'll be a good one to use and whilst that is in my repos when trying to download it says I need libqt 4 which isn't in my repos. So I would like to know where to get that if poss.

Also I tried witter and didn't like it so I thought I'd have a look at Tweego. This again isn't in my repos. So if I could be pointed in the direction of that I'd be really appreciative.

Really loving the device anyway. My girlfriend recently upgraded to a HTC Desire and whilst being bright and shiny and very good at what it does I got pretty bored of it after a few hours. It just seemed like a better version of my old Samsung Omnia, so it was a case of been there done it.

Now all I need to do is flash to PR1.2 but as Vodafone aren't supporting it I'm waiting to hear whether Nokia will still honour my 2 year warranty if I do flash. Logic suggests they should but you never know.

Anyway hope you can help. Thanks again.

Litherayne,

Make sure you have updated your phone to the latest Maemo release (known around here as PR1.2). With that, you should have no problems installing FaceBrick.

Aah that makes sense. Like I said before I'm going to hold off on flashing as I want assurances from nokia that my warranty will still be valid.

However considering all the negative stuff I've read on these boards for the last two months whilst waiting for my upgrade I must say I've been pleasantly surprised with the functionality of the device. Certain things like the contacts I think are very intuitive. The only quibble I have so far is the battery life, I've read that that PR1.2 improves on that so over to Nokia on that front.

On a side note am I the only one who Nokia UK customers keeps on hold for over an hour???

Flashing official updates with official tools does not void your warranty, see:

And

Hope this helps.
