Hi,

According to this thread, finding the N800 in London used to be a problem; is this still the situation? Can anyone recommend a decent place where it is available?

I'll be visiting London for a few days next week (coming from Israel, where it's impossible to buy the N800), so online stores aren't an option. It looks like I can get it at Dixons Tax Free at the airport on the way back for £238, but I'd be happy to know what other options are available.

PC World stock them. Also try Micro Anvika, it used to be a stock item but it may be special order now so best to check before trudging to their stores.

Thanks. I checked the PC World web site, and it looks like none of their stores in London has it in stock; I hope this changes until next week because their price is quite good

If you are flying out anytime soon, I've seen them at Heathrow duty free shops a couple months ago.

PC World had one on display recently in the Old Kent Road branch, but of course stock is a different matter.

Likewise a month ago Micro Anvika had one on display in their Selfridges shop but no stock, now they have no display either. It was that hands on demo that clinched my decision to buy the device.

Clearly the N800 is not a runaway sales success if a shop with stock can't be found in London.

Seems odd that none of the london PCWorlds have them. Now I look I notice that neither the Yeovil or Bath stores where I have seen Nokia 800 display stands have it in stock. I assume they must be dropping them if this is the case.

I can ship you a brand new, ( Nokia sealed , unopened Carton ) N800 Internet Tablet, to Israel if you wish. The cost including Shipping and Insurance etc. will be 225 UK Pounds.

Thanks, Arjun, but i'm afraid this isn't practical. Importing any kind of wireless device into Israel can be a bureaucratic nightmare, especially if it's a device that isn't sold here; I know somebody who ordered several innocent computer items from the US, and his package was held by customs for a month because one of the items was a wireless mouse...

If I just bring an N800 with me in my bag, nobody will ask any questions.

Good Afternoon linguini:

I'm currently located in the London area and have an extra n800 that my family bought for me 1 month ago but have stopped using lately since I just got a new job which is taking most of my time from all this great gizmos and I already had a prior n800 that my family didn't know about. The device came with 2 stylus, the charger, pouch, memory card, and the n800 itself. It has no nicks, scratches nor anything, it even has the film strip that came with it to protect the screen(I knew i wasn't using it that much when I noticed this). I am aware the n800 is selling for 280 pounds in England so I'm offering you the n800 for 250 pounds, considering it's almost brand new and I would certainly give you the device with a reflashed version of the software so you can set it up from the start. If you are still interested or have any questions please feel free to drop me a line through here.

Thanks,
Armando

Hi Armando,
Thanks for the offer, but I'd rather not buy 2nd hand (and besides, the price at the airport is only 238 pounds). I was just hoping to find a similar or lower price (excl. VAT) before I get to the airport, especially since I prefer not to wait for the last moment.
