Hello there I looked through a few Fbreader threads and I don't see this issue addressed (quite worrying) but basically when go to the repositories to download the reader it says that I can't because I need to download the following file libfribidi0.

This would be ok if I could find this anywhere. I've flashed to Pr1.2 so that's not the problem unless I need to be on pr1.1.

Please help - thanks

try going into console, sudo gainroot (you need root sh installed), and try 'apt-get install libfribidi0'. if it installs then fine, otherwise post the result here. you might need to enable extras-testing or extras-devel prior to this.

Thanks for getting back to me but I literally just found that out and now it's running fine.

But once again thanks for getting back to me.

Hi,

This isn't working for me.

In X Terminal (with rootsh), I get "Package libfribidi0 is not available, but is referred to by another package"

Some background ...

I had FB Reader installed and working fine but decided to try out Dorian and MeBook.

After installing those apps, FB Reader couldn't find anything in my 'text' directory. (I think was the fault of one of the new readers I installed)

So I thought I'd uninstall and re-install FB Reader. I uninstalled ok, but it won't reinstall.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I fixed it. For those who are interested:

The libfribidi0 deb file it is actually "File not found" in all most repositories
- I finally found it here: http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...idi0/0.10.4-6/
- I installed it manually using X-Terminal (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvDgBG9xQzc)
- Then installed fbreader normally using App manager
- Success.

The moral of the story: if you enable Extras-devel for any reason, don't forget to disable it again. I think that's what messed up my fbreader/libfribidi0 installation.

But you guys knew that ...
