I actually had a fair bit of trouble with this. Mostly because the resources are spread few and far between. Note that for some of these steps you'll need the program rootsh (to gain admin powers).

First of all you'll need the patch for the game. The port only works with the latest version of quake 3:
http://vintagequakerz.com/FTP/q3/poi...elease_132.zip

Once patched game on computer, you'll need to install the quake 3 on your phone. The latest version of Quake 3 is very buggy so you'll need to install the previous version from here:
http://espejo.freemoe.org/repository...ee/i/ioquake3/

Simply download that to the main directory of phone, and click it from File Manager to install. (or simply run it from MicroB browser)

If you find you get a missing dependencies error, run the below commands:

root
apt-get update
apt-get install libgles1-sgx-img

Then try and install again.

Now you'll need to grab the pak.pk3 files from the quake install on your computer... they should range from pak0 to pak8 and place them on your phone in a folder called quake (or something). Then copy them to the /home/user/baseq3 folder. You can use a program like Emelfm2 to do this... or in xterminal with something like:

cp /home/user/MyDocs/quake/* /home/user/baseq3

Note that this will take a fairly long time... if the console doesn't do anything.. just let it sit for 15-20 minutes.

Run Quake 3 and your good to go!

Once patched game on computer, you'll need to install the previous version of quake 3 on your phone (maemo5 version, as maemo6 is buggy as anything). From here:

So you have installed the maemo6 version from Application Manager?

If that doesn't work. Ensure you have rootsh installed and run these:

root
apt-get update
apt-get install libgles1-sgx-img

Ok I did the command in xterm and looks like it might have worked, but I havent dodnt anything yet, so I thought I heard to install the ioquale3 version # 5? So now do i install # 6?
Thanks

Ohh also you say this "So you have installed the maemo6 version from Application Manager?"

I dont remember seeing a ioquake3 in any of the list, I even used the "ALL" list and went down the whole long list and didnt find ioquake3, it should be in the game area right?

Anyways do I need to add a new catalog to include the ioquake3 in the game list? Or can i just go that link you gave me with all those ioquake3 versions and downlaod to n900 and install with app manager now maybe it wont error out since i might have installed libgles1-sgx-img using xterm.

Ok well I installed the ioquake3 5 version that I downloaded last night onto the n900 memory and it did install succesfully becasue of that command you wrote up for xterm, thanks for that. Now I installed quake3 on my windows pc and isntalled latest 132 point release patch, so Im ready to install on the n900 right? Go ahead and use the version #5 and not #6 right of ioqauke3?

If version 5 is working fine... there is no reason to install 6. Go ahead and put the files on the N900.
