Hahaha good question

I just made a quick example in gimp. It's like this without any graytones, just black and white. In photoshop it's called 'stamp' so i hoped you just knew it. It's basically the dark areas that get pitch black and the light areas that get all white. i like the effect for portraits

Hope this makes sense otherwise i have to make a example on a pc with photoshop wich i don't have on this one i'm using at the moment

Hey, I am impressed and very much looking forward to this. Just a quick question because of that program screen shot. Is it more like a image converting program where you pick a picture and then pick a filter or is it a more of a camera where you take a picture and it applies the filter automatically? Also can you please add a lomo filter/effect?

I'm currently working on the image converting program (Classic Print). This was only really meant to be a test application for trying out the effects ready for inclusion into my camera application (Classic Cam).

Classic Print is nearly ready for releasing to the world for testing. At this point I'll go back to developing the camera app.

@Dousan - I really like that stamp effect and may try playing around to see if I can make something good. The only worry I have is that it may not be in keeping with the purpose of the application which is to create classic retro prints.

It's nearly there. I'm just in the middle of packaging it up and working out how to submit it to extras-devel.

Most of the features are there now. You can change the settings and preview them then save the full-res picture as a jpg. I do need to work on optimising the filter algorithms though - saving a full-res picture takes a few minutes. I'll probably put in an option to save a reduced size image to workaround this.

Just tried it and to process a photo taken at maximum resolution from the camera (5MP), it takes about 2 minutes 45 seconds. This definitely needs some work

I should be able to improve the processing time by quite a lot as I know where the problems lie but I'll get the first release out for people to try first. I'll put an option in to save a smaller image for now to make it a bit more usable.
