Hi i have downloaded the map pack onto my N900 with vodafone after finishing the free game. It is saved in my documents and using file manager i can open it with angry birds, app manager etc but whatever i open it with it doesnt work. It will launch angry birds but there is no extra maps.

Does anyone know what to do i have searched the net for ages.

Thanks

welcome to the forums!
my question surrounds, having purchased it from ovi you get the option to run and install? where did you download the deb file from?

You need to update to PR1.2 then you will be able to download it again from OVI store if you have paid for it. I suspect you are on Vfs 1.1 firmware still.

slightly off topic but while we're here... if i've installed the user made extra levels for angry birds already and then buy the rovio level pack will i have to do anything else to get the official map pack registered to the game or will it just kick off the user maps automagically?

"user made extra levels"? Never heard of them. After you bought and download it, just click it in file manager, and it should open app manager and install it.

Don't worry - I had the user maps and installed the level pack. The level pack automatically becomes the third set of levels. This was under PR1.1 though. Just got the official installed on 1.2!

I originally downloaded the map pack from ovi store after completeing the game. Previously my n9000 wouldnt allow me to purchase the game (think i had old software) but after getting a replacement phone as i cracked the screen i was able to buy it from the ovi store.

I dont know how you find out what version of software i am running but i have maemo 5 and via app manager cannot update anymore.

On about product says Version: 2.2009.51-1.205.1

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

When i open it with file manager it gives me list of programmes to open it with. If i chose file manager it comes back to initial file manager screen and nothing happens.

You have the old version 1.1 Vodafone software so will not be able to download paid for apps (even a re-download for ones you purchased in the past) until you get PR1.2

Your options are:-
1.Wait an eternity for Vodafone so issue this and future firmwares
2.Do a full back up to memory card and update using flasher 3.5 to the latest PR1.2 of the non Vodafone UK firmware (varient 203).

I would not hessittate in doing the latter. this removes the teather to Vf and their stupid firmware update policy and DOES NOT invalidate your warantee. Many people have already done this.
