>> yeah, if you want OS upgrades and good commercial apps you should go out and buy an Apple or Android phone!

100 % agree

>> Nokia devices are just as competitive without all that unnecessary added value.

.... yes and everyone knows Nokia is so competitive nowadays their phones are gaining marketshare from Android/Apple.

lets hope all goes well. by the time meego comes out with a device my N900 will be sold anyway. lets hope intel and nokia do well and QT is pushed to other phone makers. apple will be on their own

Intel also detailed its AppUp store, which is a cross-platform attempt to compete with the likes of Google's Android Marketplace and Apple's iTunes. The first company to support it is Asus, with links to the store on its latest crop of netbooks.
MeeGo offers two different modes, an iPhone-like "Simple" mode and the multimedia-intensive "Panel" mode, which aggregates web pages, social media feeds and media playback.

I can excuse the horrible grasp of the English language that the OP used, since this is an international forum...

Though in my experience, most of the people who post to forums say "forgive me for my poor English, it's not my native language" end up having better English than the native speakers....

So this really sounds like someone who has failed at life itself, and is now with the understanding that anything that isn't a flashy game that makes his eyes sparkle, must be crappy.

Seriously, 290 crappy apps? I purchased Angry Birds simply to support the progammers of commercial software. The game is addicting, but frustratingly annoying at times too!

But all the emulators, xournal, evince, Opera, Chrome... there are some seriously awesome apps for the N900.

The only one off the top of my head that is a "crappy" app, would be the one that checks how far you can throw your N900!

Out of all those iPhone and Android Apps, there aren't even 50 that are actually useful.

In conclusion, STFU. Though it'd be nice for them to officially support MeeGo for the N900, I can understand why they don't (though they do support it, just not saying "Hey, here's our first MeeGo device that also used to be our First / Last Maemo 5 device!")

Ok..I seriously doubt if Nokia wld do that....but what if Nokia provides an upgrade but prices it higher than the depreciated value of the N900 on that day.
a)Would we buy it?
b)Would nokia release updates/fixes for that later?
c)Would we be ready to pay for that as well?

In my view if 'yes' is the answer for all than nokia should be happy to release it.

Might be wrong, but in my opinion it is in Nokia's best interest that N900 shd carry meego, as it would help them in attaining 'critical mass' faster and bring in the developers early than wait for a full fledged device

its really funny to read this thread thx but like much ppl here saying the open source developer did all the apps and nokia did nothing to give us some proper working good apps.

They dont give us a good navigation programm .. i mean they have it for any newer symbian device but not for us .. common guys wake up anybody who is defending nokia must be blind in my eyes.

Ask yourselfe what did Nokia do for this Maemo Project ..they said its dead official but give you the great Option to do Meego for the N900 how nice from them hmm.

But they dont want Meego Official becouse why should they do any support or work for there abandoned N900 Development Experimental Device.

And to say just sell your N900 and buy a Iphone if you arent happy is totally stupid i mean did anybody checked the price for a used N900 this days but okay if anybody will give me 450Euro (new price was 600) i sell it ..its just a halve year old *sadly ironic*

crown77,
"Defending Nokia"
I would like to raise one point here. IMO people like to put other people in groups and that basically distorts the conversation. Criticizing or having different opinion than person who is not happy with their N900 doesn't meant that this person is defending Nokia. They are defending themselves but they might to disagree what Nokia is actually doing. Please people bear this in mind when having conversation. Also when someone tries to explain what Nokia is doing, quite often people attack these people. Why?

So who is actually defending Nokia?

290 crappy apps??? That is very mean (i have found many usefull apps there that changed my n900 experience, apple has 200000 apps so you must spend a month checking them and find 5 usefull ones), by now some developpers, no..all the developers will want to..... kill you.....(just kidding). You should support the developers we have and respect them, not discourage them. Sigh....
