Howdy, been reading about the N800 and it sounds like a nifty little gadget, I was hoping you guys (and girls) could tell me whether it would fit my needs.

I'm wanting to set up my home stereo system so that I can stream mp3s from my pc into my amplifier and stereo wirelessly. Would the N800 be powerful enough to do this?

I'd like to connect my stereo to the N800 using the 3.5 jack plug and stream the tunes on my PC through the n800. Is this a practical idea, or would I be better off using a laptop?

Thanks for any advice. Also, if you think it's a reasonable proposition, can you recommend a cheap wire free keyboard I could use to do a bit of internet gossip while I'm lounging.

Or are there any other reasonably priced goodies that could do the same thing?

if all you are looking for is wireless music, you should get an airport express they are only $100

Are you looking to use this for something else though?

wow so many alternatives for playing music these days.

Thanks for the suggestion Dirk but I'd like something with a screen so I can edit playlists on the fly. The remote for the airport looks a bit rudimentary for me. Nice bit of kit though.

You can plug an stereo to rca cable into the 3.5 jack and into your receiver and use canola for internet radio. I have done this and works fine.. but if you want something truly wireless I also have this setup:

Im using airport express to stream wirelessly my itunes library (and internet radio stations) to my receiver in the basement from my office on the 2nd floor..
I also have a pair of Podz wireless speakers in my room and living room. I use salling clicker on my nokia e61i to control itunes from anywhere in my house using a wifi or bluetooth connection..
