Someone tried that to my father's house while he was at home and he shot through the door and killed the man dead. Police investigated and found him innocent (castle doctrine) and now he's looking at suing the man's family for what it cost him to repair the door.
lol. i don't own a gun, but i have been waiting for them to come back. i'm pretty pissed and would like to see if my kali and jkd training has been worth the effort.

here is the link to ewallet http://www.iliumsoft.com/site/ew/ewallet.htm. I used it on my wm5 device for storing personal information. It encrypts its own files but not others so it's not an end all solution and is comparable to PasswordSafe which is available for the IT but better IMO.

On the browser side you can just clear your information or don't save passwords and set the lock feature on the device itself. The browser info is on the device so if they can't unlock it, they can only reflash which will erase the data on it, from what i know, so you would be covered.

slider, chances are if they had the nuts to break into your house, its wasn't without a knife or gun in hand.
fist VS. gun/knife
You need a gun buddy.

Didn't New York outlaw handguns in the state?
Or is that just concealed-carry permits for its citizens?
Usually when I travel stateside I carry a map of states with reciprocity agreements with North Carolina.
If a state doesn't have one with NC then I don't go to/thru that state if I don't have to.

As far as securing the home, 1/2 inch ballistic glass in all the windows with dual-sill-locks, disguised steel doors on all entrances to the dwelling set into steel frames sunk deep below the floor and extending into the ceiling, double non-bump locks on those doors with at least one lock on each door being biometric controlled access (either finger or palm), with a good home alarm system rigged to popup flash-bang grenades sunk into the floor near the entrances and set to a 30 second delay.

Of course, the ballistic glass might be overkill since it's so expensive and a pain-in-the-***** to work with.
But if you live in a frequent drive-by area then it's worth it.
But nothing short of a tank or APC with a battering ram is getting in a house like that.

I know a guy that went toe to toe with a knife wielding attacker. He's a black belt in tang-su-do. He also didn't know the guy had a knife. He's damn lucky he didn't bleed to death. He said he was hitting the guy with everything he had and the guy was "punching" back. He was actually stabbing back. The guy took off after my friend dropped to the ground. Cops showed up right after and called an ambulance. They eventually caught the other guy. He had a broken nose, jaw, and crushed eye socket. Broke three ribs and some wicked bruising all around his chest area. Unless you can drop one of those x-fighters with one or two hits, hands against weapons is a really bad idea.

Nope, I'm talking about an easy retrofit that can be done to just about any real home (no trailer homes!).

Translation for the reading-impaired: Don't bring fists to a knife fight and don't bring either to a gun fight.

wow we should re-label this thread as "N800 and self-defense." maybe somebody could install a taser for the N800. the input button could act as a trigger. that would be cool.

seriously, thx everyone for the concern. my training has taught me to leave quickly if a gun or knife is present. however, i am trained to disarm blades, but that would be a last resort. on the other hand, retractable batons are quite easy to carry (and legal). two batons in concert can be devasting. guns, again, are a different matter. on another note, the police officer who helped us had some really good ways to protect the house. i think i'll try some of her suggestions before installing lexan windows.

anyway, keep an eye on your tablet.
