Mine has been, as well. CPU and Battery usage are far above the usual. Although I've installed quite a bit of stuff from -testing and -devel. Will investigate.

Exactly the same problem.

after using n900 for 5 minutes, it become very warm.

the keyboard, the back pack (battery) is just hot

then put it away for 20 minutes, it become cool.

I use Conky to check and all is normal.

CPU usage is only 2 percent.

Is it related to the summer ?

I used PR1.2 before and no such problem.

I had just reflashed ROM and EMMC and only a few apps installed now. The problem come yesterday.

I think it is not OS related.

This thread should be put on N900 section.
can some guy from NOKIA take a look on this issue ?

I think it might be the summer. I had no problems with PR1.2 until recently. My N800 has (and had, in previous years) the same behavior.

Thread Moved to Nokia N900.

I think it's normal. If you want Nokia to look into it, don't post it here. This isn't a Nokia support forum, it's a community forum, so less than a handful of Nokia employees visit. Go to the Nokia forums: Nokia Europe or Nokia USA and post it there.

Hmm. Mine getting warmer too, on usage that's it. If left idle, still cold same as before. Did a ROM and eMMC reflash, everything get smoother and more fluid too! But the battery are still the same bad, after PR 1.2 firmware update... I see some people get the same problem as me, while some others get the opposite...

The reason is the Fourier's law of heat. The flow rate of energy is proportional to the gradient of temperature. No gradient, no flow.
It's summer!

I had an incident this morning. Last night I closed everything, set my alarm and plugged the phone to the charger but not only did the alarm not activate this morning but I woke up to a completely blank screen and the device so hot that I couldn't hold it for more than a few seconds... This never happened before... It seems to be working fine now but that was quite scary.
