Hi all,

New to posting but been reading around for a while now.

I am having a bit of a problem with Canola 2 on my N900 as the title says.

I am running PR1.2 firmware and downloaded Canola 2 via App Manager (over wifi) last night. It appeared to work fine at the time, played some music through the inbuilt speakers ... alls good.

I then downloaded some plugins, radio, etc. and left it until today. I started up Canola, all seemed OK until I try to play any music, I get no audio through headphones or speakers, any thoughts?

File appears to be playing to all intents and purposes, progress bar moves along etc, just no audio. I have also noted that I get no album cover art either but all the MP3's have album cover metatags and they display fine through the default media player.

Any help or idea would be appreciated. I am reasonably new to the N900 so still learning alot but I am quite happy to have a go at pretty much anything, its the only real way to learn

Do you running it under the silent profile or have turned the volume off?

Oh My God, I hadn't even taken that into consideration, what a *****.

Although, the reason I didnt consider it is because I normally have my phone on silent when I am at work and it worked through the headphone via the normal media player.

I have just tried it on the normal profile and it worked, so that would be the likely cause.

Thanks (although I do feel a bit of an idiot now haha)

You'll need to install "Canola2 Tuning Plugin."

Then open Canola, and open settings (gears in bottom right of the main screen).

Go to Media Library > Cover art and thumbnails > Update cover art > Choose whichever source you want, and click update.

Canola 2 is in Extras-Devel.

http://wiki.maemo.org/Extras-devel#H...e_Extras-devel

Expect stability issues (crash on changing themes, cannot type, etc.) Most of those however, will be fixed with the next update: http://andrei1089.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

(I am not the developer.)

i am also not a developer though, love trying out new things

anyways, i can see that extras-devel is available on fremantle and not fremantle-1.2. So, can i just use the fremantle and update??

I think they shut down the -testing and -devel split after PR1.2's release. Anyways, I just use plain old "Fremantle" as the distribution.

Do as you please. Just don't go crazy and install everything. (Like I almost did...)
