I had this same issue about a week ago. The issue turned out to be (in my case) not having sufficient power going to the device (I was using the USB hooked to my computer through a hub.) After plugging it directly into one of the computer's ports and letting it sit for a few minutes, it charged up just fine and was able to boot.

I already tried reflashing it but N900 just stays silent (no lights or annything else) tried with and without battery, tried plugin usb before battery, tried with and without simcard)

I tried leaving it charging all night but there is no change

I tried charging battery with another phone (5800) but N900 still stays silent.

I tried removing battery and pressing power button for a few seconds. (with/without wall charger pluged in)

As i sayed i tried on USB and wall charger (tried 2 different wall charger and 2 different batteries) but didn't change annything

I still don't understand how it happened as i just left N900 running out of power and shut down. Since it happened i cant power it up / charge / flash

As i said it seems to be dead. I didn't have time to get it back to Nokia Care today, i'll tell you when i know more about this problem

@phantoom: See the link that Moloch provided.

If that doesn't help: Do you see the Nokia logo when you press 'u' and install the USB cable? If not, then you will need to 'cold flash'. And even if you do, if nothing else works, you may still need to 'cold flash'.
If so, try this: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...5&postcount=51

The same problem happened to me. I've had my N900 since nov (uk here) woke one morning and no power & solid LED.
1st i took it to a nokia care point.... no luck. 2nd sent it off to nokia repair 3 weeks later N900 returned fixed... so i thought! Woke up next morning and same thing had happened!! To say i was cheesed off was an understatement!!!!
3rd rung nokia straight back complaining about their customer service, repair quality control etc etc.... It took them another week before they sent someone to collect it. Another 2 weeks passed & i was issued with a new N900!
So my advice would be to send it off, demand a new one and prepare for a long wait!!
Oh i hope you've backed up your data? I didn't! Another crucial mistake!!!

I had similar problem.
What i realised waht the phone would show up when connected to PC and Backlight was ON.
So I just flashed my N900 with the latest firmware.
and it started working ok
