I am having an interesting problem that has grown to be more of a pain lately. Sometimes (I am still looking for a pattern) after I run an app in full screen, but not always, the touch screen becomes unresponsive. However when it happens, I can press the power button and tap cancel, and the screen responds again. Other times I may have to do that "Power Button/Cancel" a few times to get it responsive again.

Other than that, and when it is working, the screen operates as normal.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I just reflashed the unit...and within a few minutes. Same problem. Anyone have an idea? Do I have a defective unit?

Sounds like something is consuming a lot of CPU and causing the device (not the touchscreen) to become unresponsive... most likely culprit is metalayer-crawler and a corrupt SD/MMC card filesystem (or a recursive symlink) which makes it go nuts. Searcht the forum for metalayer-crawler and you'll find some useful posts which should help deal with it.

Alternatively run top in a remote session over wifi and see what is running on your device when you experience this problem.

The screen could be defective. Mine was. If it's still doing it after a reflash, with no SD cards in the device, on a clean boot, I'd send it back.

For those following my thread. I don't think that the screen is defective, cause it works fine when it is working....however, I followed the rabbit that lead me to the metalayer-crawler and I disabled it with good results. I think that my CPU was pegging out causing my unit to not respond sometimes. So far so good, I will report back after a bit with more results.
