Hi, just a quick question....
Maemo 5 update has just become available 113.6mb
It says in the summery.... This Maemo update requires the nokia software update application on your pc for instalation. Connect device to pc via usb cable and open nokia software application bla bla bla....
Anyway, i've never used any nokia software, i always use my phone as mass storage when i wanna do stuff. So do i have to use my pc to update or can i just do it on my phone via wifi?
Thanks
Nath

Nokia PC Suite. It's on their website. If, however, you don't want to bother with that (it's a buggy program) just uninstall all the extras-devel/testing applications and as much other programs you can.. and try the update again.

IzzeHo PC Suite is far from buggy, ive used PC Suite for the last 3 years i wouldnt touch OVI suite with 10 foot pole. You sure your not mixing the 2 up, i have never in 3 years had a problem with PC Suite.

I updated via wifi without any problems, so it should be ok. But if you have any test or dev repositories activated: deactivate them. For wifi: plug your N900 in a charger to be sure it doesn't run out of juice.

You mean the aplication catalogues and not the apps themselves? Which catalogues came as standard? I can't remember??
