Hi guys I m in beijing and my phone operator is china mobile,I wanted to buy an internet package but my n900 has only the 2,5 connection and not the 3.5 . . is that normal?

Hi!
Yes, this is normal, since N900 uses special bands for 3G (I don't know how to explain) but yes you'll only have 2.5g from china mobile unless you use another phone (blackberry, for example).

YES, it's RIGNHT, your N900 has only 2.5G connection means it is using EDGE connection, mine N900 is the same.

China Mobile's 3G network is based on TD-SCDMA techonlogy, which is not compatible with WCDMA. but their 2.5G/2G network is the standard EDGE/GSM.

if you want to use WCDMA/HSDPA in China, you can select another Telecommunication Service Provider, named China Unicom, their 3G/3.5G is WCDMA/HSDPA, fully supported by N900.

How can I input Chinese on N900?
I mean still keep current operating system, which is English, then have the function of inputting Chinese?

You can use the PenPower package which allows written chinese as an input method.
Use the search function for more information.
