How many of you use screen protectors.
Does it worth buying ? From where and how much.

I look at screen protectors as insurance on my investment (N800).

Using a screen protector saved my N800 at least once. I replaced the velcro on a leather case with magnetic clips and after a week I noticed scuffing on my screen protector: the padding of the case was not enough to protect the screen.

Problem was easily solved by putting the N800 in the case backwards, but without screen protector I'd now have a very nasty and probably permanent mark on my screen.

It's worth it...

Prior to my N800, I used a Palm IIIxe, a HandEra 330, and Palm Tungsten T5 in turn. The first two I used for many years. I also have an old Stylistic 500 and a DS. With none of these did I ever use a screen protector, and none of the screens ever got a scratch.

With my N800, the screen developed numerous small scratches in both the right hand scrollbar region and the left hand side of the handwriting recognition area after only three or four months. I've since added an invisibleSHIELD screen protector. It's doing a good job at protection, but it has a grippy, rubber texture that doesn't work well with using the stylus for handwritten entry.

I've no idea if other screen protectors are better.

I dont use a screen protector, just the one included, but my screen is pretty scratched, and Ive had it for 3 weeks, it gets scracthes from playing solitaire with the stylus or my finger, and also from sketch.

thats sad, like, really.

It only means that the "screen protector" Nokia put on the N800 is a really crappy one.

What exactly did you expect from a freebie?

just on an off chance, did you remove the screen protector that is already installed when you first receive the n800? as others have noted, it does scratch easily.

Yes, I removed that as soon as I unpacked my N800. In hindsight, I should have left it in place, but I didn't expect to need a screen protector.

Chalk it up as one of life's lessons, right next to seatbelts and condoms.
