Any clue why the "tap to call" doesn't work for the phone number in the microB browser? As far as I understand (not much because I am not a software engineer) this "tel=hildon-rtcom-call-ui.desktop" should allow the feature. I tried to find information on internet about the hildon but I haven't found much.
I wrote an email 2 weeks ago to nokia user support but I haven't got any answer.
It would be great if someone from maemo community can fix it or at the list give an idea why the "tab to call" feature doesn't work for any browser for Maemo.

Thank you.

I have the N900 since its launch in '09. I love the phone, but it also has its problems. The reason why I am on this forum today.

My phone did allow calling from the web by just pressing the phone# on the browser. As mentioned before it is just copied and pasted into the phone program for you to hit call, which I prefer over direct calling from the web in case of an accident.

Get the N900 if you like member orientated software and OS, but it will come with troubleshooting time to time.

Get the Iphone4 if you want your phone on easystreet, but your limited by Steve Job's unwillingness to play with others. Such as Iphone lost all the cool flash developers.

Yes, MicroB supports tel: and sip: URLs, but there's a problem with the version that shipped with PR 1.2.

See https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10404 . FIx is in comment #6, namely add these two keys, boolean, set to false, to your about:config:

network.protocol-handler.warn-external.sip
network.protocol-handler.warn-external.tel

in microb enter:

about:config

into the URL box, and go...

Create those two keys as booleans
make their values false

close microb, and then launch it again.

Should be good to go.

i know what you mean, the microb gui is not exactly intuitive for this. what i did was close all microb windows and open x-terminal. then

$ killall browser
$ find . -name prefs.js

make a back-up copy of prefs.js, just in case
edit prefs.js to insert the two lines
save prefs.js
open microb, look at about:config to make sure the two directives have been recognized correctly
