In that case I don't know why it wouldn't find them. You could try running /usr/local/instinctiv/bin/instinctiv.launch from X Terminal and see whether there's any relevant error message posted. A reinstall is also an option, but I suspect you'd also need to delete the existing config/database and I don't know where that's kept (I couldn't find it when I had a quick look). There's some stuff in /home/user/Instinctiv but the database doesn't appear to be in there.

Hello all,

I am Mihail, from Instinctiv. Thank you very much for your help with fixing the remaining issues with the player.

We uploaded the 0.3.14 version to the Ovi Store. You can download it from there. We are continuing improving the player, so we will send you an update in a couple of days.

About the music files: the player automatically scans the memory cards, so there is no matter where you put your songs.

Thanks to all of you again for your help.

Best Regards,
Mihail

I installed Instinctiv last night and opened it once to play with it for a minute or two. About 2 hours later, right before I went to bed, I noticed that my battery level had dropped significantly since the install. I opened up Conky and saw that the hildon-thumbnail process was using a constant 15-20% CPU. I figured it was doing background processing of thumbnails for Instinctiv (for 2 hrs?) so I let it go while I charged overnight. This morning I woke up to a fully charged phone, but Conky was still showing the hildon-thumbnail process using 15-20% CPU. I rebooted, and it was still doing it. I un-installed Instinctiv and hildon-thumbnail stopped showing up as a top process in Conky. Any ideas?

Hi,
I have installed 0.3.14, seems promising. I'm mostly using my N900 in the car with a custom made holder, connected to the car stereo, so maybe my opinions also help:
- An effective landscape mode is important. I tried Ctrl+Shift+R; returns to portrait when "... come back later" error appears.
- Finds and downloads Albumart with success mostly, but it is not using downloaded image for the rest of the album, only for that song. I have around 5000 songs in memory, which are ripped from my cds, so I have very well organized archive based on full albums. It's unlogical if it downloads the same image for every song.
- The UI font size (song name, artist, album...) is ideal for normal use, but it would be nice to have bigger fonts option to use in car.
- I mainly use default mediaplayer and love it. Good search, touchscreen friendly. I can choose library and internet radio very easily in same software. So maybe not video but internet radio implementation would be nice. I prefer to use just one software, not different for every need.

I still couldn't get instinctive shuffle or play songs similar to... working, but the idea is promising; thanks.

@bobalyafeai09

This worked for me:
Close application
sudo gainroot
apt-get remove libavcodec52.
Try opening it again.

This is at your own risk, it worked for me but could possibly blow your car up or something.

Is it possible to configure which folders it looks in? I might want to stop Instinctiv from displaying podcasts, for example. Does it use tracker?
