All I am saying is that the thought process before posting should go as follows:

1) Search. If you are looking for answers, check thoroughly and see if they have already been addressed.

2) If you can't find your answer, then start a new thread in the appropriate sub-forum.

3) If you are not looking for answers, and would just like to vent your frustration, make use of off topic. Whine/rant threads clutter things and make it hard to find anything of substance, and OT does not show up in active topics.

Keeping the forums clean is a big part of contributing to the community IMHO.

For someone who's decrying "the whiners", you sound suspiciously like a whiner when you do it. Why can't you be more like that nice guy cfh11?

In Phone:

Phone: Turning Control: Display Orientation - pick one or the other that isn't automatic.

There you go, no more rotation.
Nope, the screen stil stutters a bit when you fix it to portrait mode.
Fixing it to landscape is the most usable solution.

glad i got that out
Lol. I miss close to half of my calls for one reason or another. Usually it is because the device just rings with a blank screen so I am unable to pick it up. Many will tell you that since it has never happened to them the issue does not exisit.

Please please HTC release a meego phone with keyboard and at least 16gb internal memory (but preferably 32gb).

I think it's particularly lovely to read stupid whining about stupid whiners. That's my favorite.

I had this issue for a very short time and found the problem (and solution).

The problem was I had a cheep screen protector that didn't have a cutout for the proximity sensor (near the front facing camera). In many conditions, it was reflective enough that the device thought the phone was in close proximity to something (like in a pocket) and didn't enable the screen. I replaced the cover with a new one that didn't cover the sensor, and it's worked fine ever since. You may want to check your device for something covering the sensor...

I also have placed the phone app in "landscape mode" in it's settings, since I almost never use portrait mode, which meant it was taking time to change modes any time a call came in.

This is 100% a software issue.... how would HTC fix that? Anyways HTC's build quality is far below Nokia's IMO.

Sorry are you suggesting that all android phones suffer from the same bugs? Surely the software issue here is a problem with Nokia. If someone else had released a maemo phone would it have suffered all the same tons of bugs in the N900? I would be suprised if that was the case. If all meego phones are going to have the same software bugs irrespective of the device manufacturer then maybe I should seriously consider just jumping to android now because from what I can tell it doesn't suffer from the loaded bugs I get on n900.

Sorry Ossipena, but not more stupid than reading one time and another time your patetic posts. You are NEVER aporting something really usefull to Maemo, only trying to shut up mouths against Nokia.
