I had decided to make the account nickname the callback number. There is also a setting for this but then changing requires a log out / log in. Is this something that would be important to remove?

I just thought it would be cool to have it said "You" instead of my whole phone number. If it not too much trouble it would be great to have it so that the user can input anything they want either a name or a number. A log out/in would be find. Or maybe if you include an option for it in advance setting to enable or disable for those who don't like this and everyone would be happy.

Too many advanced settings and things get nasty.

"nickname" generally is the name you have visible to other accounts, so it has meaning outside of your device. I felt callbacks was the closest representation of that. Having it be purely arbitrary seems kind of odd.

sure. This is fine as well. I just thought "You" would be shorter and less clutter. anyway waiting for your next update and more awsome improvement.

epage:
Is TOR supposed to provide contacts (Roster)?

Code:
    Tp::Features features;
    features << Tp::Connection::FeatureRoster;

    qDebug() << "create connection: wait to get ready (Roster)";
    connect(
        m_account.data()->connection().data()->becomeReady(features), SIGNAL(finished(Tp::PendingOperation*)),
        this, SLOT(onConnectionReady(Tp::PendingOperation*))
    );
I don't ever get the finished signal for TOR. I do get for "ring" even w/o getting any contacts and I do get for "spirit" (skype) with all the skype contacts.

Decide to ask before going too crazy trying to find the problem.

Thanks

epage already has all the pieces to this puzzle. In fact the last 10 or 15 comments on this thread are about how to solve it. epage and I both thought the last bit - calling someone using telepathy was not possible. Then fcrochik came along and showed us how it's done. All on this thread.

I am reasonably sure epage is already working on it, and it's just a matter of time before TOR gets this feature.
