Lets hope so. Over here in the UK, I saw the N800 on a display in PCWorld, but it didn't say what it was. Played with it a bit, thought it was a phone, got interested. Then I heard about it on a mac group when the 770s got cheap and someone was raving about them, so I got one. I hadn't heard about them anywhere else, and I read tech websites and such.
When I was last in PCWorld, I was fiddling with the display 800 (which was hard as the battery was dead and it was unplugged and shoved out of the way so it kept resetting), and a guy came over watching. He asked if it was a phone, I said no, he thanked me and walked off.

I have never been asked what an iPod was!

It separates the Obviously Literate from the I'm Too Lazy to Make an Effort crowd.

And the milieu shouldn't matter. Expert communication skills are valued anywhere.

Exactly.
If one can't communicate properly then one can be expected to be mowing my fcuking lawn forever.

Another site I'm a member of bans people after a couple warnings for this. We do take into account obvious non-english speaking folks.

No , it's illegible because the whole thing has been written with a total lack of punctuation , correct spelling and capitalisation .

Did you meant to say 'cant' [Insincere expression of sentiments. To speak in jargon. An oblique surface. To cause something to be at an oblique angle] , or perhaps the capitalised version : Cant . Perhaps you meant to say can't [Contracted version of can not] or possibly you intended to say Can't . As to what you intended to say next , with the missing word , is difficult to decode , given the ambiguity of your opening statement .

Next time you need to write some HTML , some C++ or ( worse ) machine code , try missing one item of punctuation , altering some capitalisation or misspelling a single command and you will soon see the importance of 'Getting it right when you write' . Even the internet needs good punctuation .

I fall into the "too lazy to give a ##$#" category as some of you might have commented/guessed. And guess what? I'm not writing code, I'm writing on a f*cking msg board. And yes, I missed a few "capitalisations" "or perhaps you meant...capitalization" the fact that the few of you are actually bothered by my lack of caring speaks volumes about your lives, or lack there of. and I love the fact that because I'm on this board you assume I'm a coder, write C++ or machine code. (well, you're assumption would have been correct if you mentioned action script and html). but seriously. take that stylus pen out of your *** and lighten up son.

funny, I had no trouble finding a job as a graphic designer, flash coder and illustrator at an ad agency. with my "lack of communication skills". Don't hurt your back with that lawn mower, try to take breaks every 15 mins. I've left some lemon aid on the counter in case you get thirsty.. cheers.

Wow. What hostility from all here. I hope this isn't the general trend of these forums. Anyway. I think the iPod touch looks very modern and I do think its sleek and sexy. But at its price point for what you get, I don't think its very worth it. I'm sure many would disagree. But I've always found the iPods to be very flimsy and the iPods battery lifespan leaved a lot to be desired. The great thing about the iPod is that it got the attention of the hardware developers back on design along with technology, something that was lacking until Apple stepped into the limelight. So my view is that the Touch is another great design and a good refabrication of the iPhone, but I look forward to what others will come up with.

It's the general trend on all forums, senior members love to haze the forum newbs trashing them for irrelevant rubbish . I don't take it serious.

I partially agree with you, but I think the ipod touch (if its going for under 300) is great for what you get (media center + internet on the go). I don't think I would pay that much for a 4 gig iphone though.
