yes i am running commands as root
before I type any command in
I type sudo gainroot
and I have just ran the command apt-get autoremove
I am still unable to install any apps
and I am given the same error

This script will move the apt's metadata (lists) and database (cache) from their canonical locations (/var/lib/apt and /var/cache/apt) into the /home partition
rename the file move-apt-dirs.txt -> move-apt-dirs.sh
use ssh open server and copy the file to your N900 in "/" (not in "/root" !!)
in xterminal type:
sudo gainroot
sh move-apt-dirs.sh
