So there's an implementation of phoneME advanced for the N800:

but this seems to only be able to run java apps or applets, not MIDlets, even though MIDlets should theoretically be supported. It doesn't really include any classes with it.

PhoneME proper seems to support it. https://phoneme.dev.java.net/downloads_page.html

I downloaded a version for linux-arm out of curiousity. It includes runMidlet which seems like the right thing, but when I try to run it I get

-sh: ./runMidlet: not found

which makes me think the binary is incomptable because I can run other binaries from that directory.

Anybody have any thoughts? I would love to be able to run MIDlets because of course you could run google maps and it seems like it should be supported.

the official linux-arm build is for the OMAP730 dev board... as I rember...

Should the source be compilable for the n800?
