Is this a data-plan only option or addition to the existing voice plans?

Also the $10 plan does not allow tethering via usb(one big difference).. So you end up using hotspots for that purpose ( From what I have encountered)

So in other words, the only difference in the "DATA" itself, is how much they want to charge you for. There internet is there internet, they are just assuming, "He has a smart phone with a big screen, so he's going to use more data". At least that is my take on it. Lots of good reply's by the way. This is my first day really posting on here, and I got to say I'm enjoying the community. Thanks guys (and gals!).

Would there be any loss of usability by trying to go from the $20/$25/$30 data plan to the $10 plan (if it's even possible to move to it, which is a huge if)? Does Tmobile block certain ports or otherwise cripple the $10 internet plan in any way?

I switched to the $10 data plan listing my Nokia 8801 as my device, got 1free month too. The 1st time I tried usnig my N900 browser I got a TMo error message saying that the plan was not compatable with my phone and had to switch to the $25 plan. What I do wrong?

change your insternt setting to

epc.tmobile.com

and this will open your phone to 3G without issues.

T-Mo knows your IMEI, anyway. Whenever I've called in, they always could identify which phone I've been using and ever since getting an account with them I've been using unlocked smartphones (SE P900 back in 2004).

I was using the 9.99, but just switched to the $5 loyalty plan.
