I had posted this in the 770 forum, but this might be a better place for it. If anyone can offer some insight on this problem, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I flashed OS2007HE successfully on my 770, and everything seems to work well, and the unit seems to run a bit faster with the new OS. I have attempted to install the python 2.5 runtime files, but keep getting the error:

"Application package missing: libffi4 (>=4.1.0-1osso1)"

I followed directions on the python site, and installed both repositories for python, but it just won't install because of that file.

I have seen in another thread, that python2.5-runtime 0.4-12 is supposed to work with OS2007HE, but when I go to the site, the only version that is currently available is 0.4-10 (which is what shows up in the app manager). I've searched everywhere for 0.4-12, and haven't been able to find it!

Does anyone know how I can get this to install? FWIW, I'm mostly wanting this so that uktube/ukmp will work. Or is there another way to easily DL youtube videos?

Thanks

Cheers for the tip - but does anyone know why this won't work through the Downloads section on Maemo?

(loads up application managers, says 'Updating' and then nothing - but it is supposed to support 2006OS according to the download page - getting this for most/all pages n Maemo downloads - and sorry, but while I'm on the subject, does anyone know why they built a search box into the page that doesn't work on 770??! )

go to this thread in the troubleshooting section:

http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=10201

there is a step by step for enabling "red pill mode" and then installing the file, which fixes the problem.
