This is the second time this has happened to me. I was using my N800, browsing the web, and it shuts-down. Now it won't boot. The first time, I sent it in for repair and had it back a couple weeks later.

All they did was reload the firmware, according to the packing slip. Is there anyway I can force it to flash? Holding the home key during power-on doesn't bring up the usb symbol. How do they do it at the repair center, and is it something I can do? Or am I stuck sending it, again, for the third f*cking time?

I love my N800, but this sh*t is frustrating to the point of wanting to be rid of it. Is it possible to have them replace your unit? This will potentially be my third repair on this unit. I'm starting to think that I got a lemon.

Have you tried pulling the battery, I know, seems obvious, but mine will occasionally turn black and look like its off, but its not. Pulling the battery allows you to start it again. When flashing be sure to use Nokia cable, or a confirmed usb 2.0 cable. I have had problems with non nokia usb cables. Holding home key should work, are you flashing from windows or linux?

Yeah, pulling the battery hasn't helped. I've got it sitting with the battery out now, in the hopes that something will be different in the morning.

I'm flashing from windows. I can confirm that holding in the home key is doing nothing. Like I said, this is the second time this has happened.

Ah, sweet, I got it to flash, by some stroke of luck. Whew, that's good. Shame it happens at all, though. I hope the next firmware addresses this, since it's not just me having this type of issue.
