Well, as long as I cannot play them - or how do I get rid of the flash update field, pls tell me - I take it that FB needs Flash10.1 and that my N900 doesn't work properly.

So when did Nokia state flash 10.1 wasn't coming to the N900? Before or after it was demonstrated running on a N900? Please enlighten us all.
There was a presentation made by ~Adobe~ where they had a demonstration of Flash 10.1 apparently running on the N900. Was it really 10.1? Who knows for sure. It could have been an animated GIF and none of us would know any different - such was the lack of visual proof in the video itself.

I agree that Nokia would probably consider it if enough members here would bug them enough and also use more public connections like the press. Imagine a headline like "Nokia doesn't want to release Flash 10.1 so their other phones get sold better"

This is why Flash is bad. Not because Steve says so (he just wants it his way) but because when Adobe decides you aren't worth the effort, you get locked out of chunks of the web. It should absolutely NOT be like this.

The Flash version tweaking will not help if Flash 10.1 features are actually used. It only helps if it is a website that says it needs Flash 10 but doesn't use any Flash 10 features (essentially just a version check).
